KarnoTech Poultry Farming Equipment

Regarding the establishment of a poultry farm, poultry equipment is one of the initial and non-returnable expenses. In such a way that practically the first and last owner of the equipment that is purchased is the poultry. Therefore, it is very important to do enough research to buy the most suitable poultry equipment.

KarnoTech is one of the oldest companies that works in the field of consulting, designing, building and equipping poultry halls. Our goal at KarnoTech is to provide appropriate, up-to-date, principled and scientific services for the construction and operation of standard poultry houses. Regarding the purchase of poultry equipment, there are some points, the most important of which we will briefly mention here.

Feeders

There are different types of feeders. The most important and common feeders are: chain or trough feeders, automatic feeders, feeding plates, manual feeders, etc.

Today, the most common feeders used in poultry farms include plate feeders. In recent years, many changes have been made in the design of these feeders. For example, it was not possible to use one day in the older designs of plate feeders. Today, there are models that can be used from the arrival of the chick (one day old) until the end of the period. For this reason, the initial days, when the importance of poultry care and maintenance is much higher, can be done in a better way with automatic systems.

For more information about feeders that can be used for one day, refer to the link below.

Drinkers

The most common type of drinkers in poultry farms today are nipple drinkers. 180 nipples are used for egg-laying chickens and 360 nipples are used for broiler chickens. The reason for using 360 nipples is that broilers can drink from any side. These nipples are made of full steel, which is very resistant to rust.

Chicken Cage

Chicken cages are places where laying hens are kept and are the main equipment used in laying hen halls. We have two types of laying chicken cages, pulpit cages and fully automatic cages (battery cages). Cages are usually the most expensive part of poultry equipment in the process of building a poultry farm. On the other hand, due to their frequent use, paying attention to the quality of its construction can guarantee its useful life for years. The cage is not a device that can be replaced or renovated after a few years. Therefore, when buying chicken cages, you should pay special attention to these items. Pulpit cages are also suitable for smaller capacities and non-industrial breeding. The capacity of less than 20,000 pieces can be used from pulpit cages. There are significant differences in the use of pulpit and battery cages.

All About Pulpit Cages and Batteries

Broiler chicken breeding in cages has been very popular in recent years. In this way, a higher capacity of broilers can be stored in small halls. Due to less mobility, usually the duration of broiler period is about 4 days less than rearing in bed. Also, you can breed more chickens per unit of area by using cages. There are considerations in raising broiler chickens in cages, which we have discussed in detail in the following article from KarnoTech about its advantages and disadvantages.

Disadvantages and advantages of raising broilers in cages

Poultry Ventilation

The responsibility of poultry farm ventilation is on the shoulders of poultry farm ventilators. In the old halls, we mostly saw transverse ventilation, in which ventilators with a diameter of 60 and 70 cm were used. Nowadays, transverse ventilation has been replaced by tunnel or longitudinal ventilation, which uses larger ventilators (100 x 100 ventilators and 140 x 140 ventilators).

The thing that you should keep in mind is the difference in the actual capacity of the same size ventilators! Poultry farmers usually recognize aerators based on their dimensions. But when we test the ventilators in the farm with accurate anemometer devices, we see different numbers in the ventilation power of the ventilators. For example, the 140 Big Herdsman aerator, which is one of the most powerful aerators in the Iranian market, has an air flow rate of about 44,000 cubic meters per hour. In the event that the ventilators of the same size and similar show a flow rate of about 36 to 37 thousand cubic meters per hour.

Finally, for a successful grower, air flow and ventilation of the poultry room should be important, and for this purpose, the poultry farmer should provide an adequate number of ventilators in his room. If you need our help to calculate the number of ventilators for the poultry house, you can do so through online support or the link to reserve a consultation time (at the bottom of this page).

Poultry Cooling and Heating

Countries with high air diversity have to make the necessary predictions regarding exposure to all types of weather.

In the discussion of heating poultry halls, the most common products are jet heaters. Jet heaters have replaced drip heaters, cabinets and hot air furnaces for years. Using jet heater systems can significantly reduce energy consumption. Jet heaters are available in different types of gas, diesel, dual fuel and electric. The link below provides comprehensive information about the types of jet heaters available in the Iranian market.

Introducing the Types of Jet Heaters

In the case of poultry cooling, pad cooling and fogging systems are used. In addition to cooling, these products also increase humidity in poultry houses. Therefore, these systems are not suitable in areas where the weather is very humid. Therefore, other solutions should be used to cool poultry halls in these areas.
